Kaitlyn Bowlan

We, your executive team, work together throughout the school year to ensure that every resident has an awesome time in Bennett! We will plan tons of fun events, organize guest speakers, keep everyone updated on campus life around MTA, oversee House Council, and encourage everyone to show their best house spirit all year!

The five of us are incredibly excited to help make everyone have the best year possible and we can't wait to meet you!

Hey Goats!

My name is Kaitlyn, my preferred pronouns are she/her, and I am thrilled to say that I am your President for the 2019-2020 academic year! I am from Stratford, Prince Edward Island and I am majoring in Psychology. Along with majoring in Psychology, I plan to do a double minor in Biology and English Literature. When I’m not studying, you can usually find me listening to music, reading a book, or laughing too hard at a joke that wasn’t even that funny. A couple of my favourite things to do on campus are study in the library and hang out with my friends in Bennett. One of my favourite things about Mount Allison is that it has an extremely positive and welcoming atmosphere- something that you will get to know (and love) very soon.

I am absolutely ecstatic about being your House President this year and I promise to make it the best year possible! I am staying on the second floor and my room number is 210; I would love it if you stopped by! Whether you just want to say “hello”, or want to stay and hang out, my door is always open. Please email me at kmbowlan@mta.ca if you have any questions, or simply want to chat. I can’t wait to meet you! :)

Hi new Bennett peeps!

My name is Elsa and I will be your co-social chair with Rachel this year. My preferred pronouns are she and her. I’m from Montreal, Québec and I’m double majoring in International Relations and Religious Studies. I am on the Mount A swim team and swimming pretty much sums up what I do. I love reading and spending time with my friends in res, which you’ll see, is going to take up most of your time. You can’t escape it, there’ll be people squatting your room pretty much always.

You can reach me at eimmer@mta.ca if you have any questions or are in need of a friend to talk to!

Academic Mentor

Your Academic Mentor, or Ac.Men, is here to help you with all your academic needs! The Ac.men provides academic support to ease the transition into university life. He holds office hours every week if you ever need help with your studies and organizes salons in Bennett!

My name is Nimesh, and I am your academic mentor for Bennett 2019/20. I am a second year Computer Science and Mathematics Major from Nepal. My preferred pronouns are he/him. Bennett is very tight knit and warmly welcoming, and as an international student, I can wholeheartedly vouch for that. When I am not organizing study sessions and academic salons, you can find me watching Christopher Nolan's 'The Prestige' for the umpteenth time.

Feel free to email me (nnayaju@mta.ca) or contact me via Facebook if you have any questions. I will be in Room 224, and I am very excited to meet you all!

Residence Assistants

Assistant Don

Mélanie Dupuis

Residence Assistants, or RAs, are a team of students that are hired by Student Life. They're here to make sure everyone is safe and sound in Bennett! They serve as role models, mediators, and mentors for the house while making sure that all house rules are followed. An RA is always there to talk to if you're having any problems!

Hi everyone!

My name is Mélanie Dupuis (feel free to call me Mel), my pronouns are she/her and I’ll be your Assistant Don for the 2019/20 academic year. I am from Fredericton, New Brunswick and am a second year voice major in the Bachelor of Music program. Although I do spend quite a lot of time practicing or doing homework, I like spending my free time hanging out with friends, laughing at stupid jokes, playing around with makeup, or simply taking a few moments to relax with a face mask. A few of my favorite things about MtA are how gorgeous the campus is and how open and friendly everyone is.

I’m very excited to discover Bennett House with all of you next year! You’ll be able to find me in room 107, whether you just want to say hi or have something to discuss, I’ll be there! Feel free to contact me at mmdupuis@mta.ca at any time, I’d be happy to chat and answer any questions you might have!

Super excited to meet you all!

Matthew McEachern

My name is Matthew, I will be the first floor RA of Bennett 2019/2020. I am currently majoring in Biology but may transition to a Biochemistry major. I absolutely love taking walks around the town of Sackville and the MTA campus, Waterfowl Park is one of the most beautiful places to relax and destress, I recommend it. The people at MTA are some of the most welcoming and they create a great community. During my first year at Bennett, it was super easy to make friends, some nights I would have fifteen people in my room that I didn’t really know and who I later became really good friends with, I hope to see the same things next academic year as an RA.

I am excited to meet everyone this coming semester and I hope to be a great RA. If you have any questions you can contact me at my student email, mdmceachern@mta.ca, and this next academic I will be in room 122 which can be found on the first floor. I can’t wait to meet everyone in August and I hope you all have a great summer!

Hi Bennett people,

Sorry for the late bio, but here it is. My name is Ellen McKay and I’m your second floor RA for the 2019-2020 school year. I’m from Outer Cove, Newfoundland and this is my first time living in Bennett since I’m moving over from Bigelow. I am in my second year majoring in Biology. I love curling and volunteering. I coach curling at the Sackville curling club and am a volunteer with KAMP and Let’s talk Science at MTA. I will be missing the majority of O-week because I will be working at the Team Gushue Curling Camp in St. John’s, Newfoundland. But I excited to meet you all on September 1st.

If you need anything can email me at ejmckay@mta.ca or come to my room 222. Hope you all have a great o-week!

Hey everybody,

My name is Noah, and I'm going to be your third floor RA for the upcoming 2019/2020 school year in Bennett House! I've lived in Shediac, New Brunswick for my entire life and now study a short way away at Mount Allison where I'm majoring in Psychology and minoring in Commerce. I love everything sports - football most of all though and I'm also a big fan of movies. Things that I love about Bennett is that it's filled with friendly people that always make moments better and that Bennett is next to just about everything on campus.

Really excited to see everyone again and can't wait to meet all the newcomers to our house. If you need anything you can catch me on third floor, room 324, or you can email me at npbourgeois@mta.ca. Anyway, hope your summers have been great and can't wait to see everyone.
